JOB TITLE: EHS Manager, UK Services
JOB SUMMARY:
CommScope’s Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Policy is an integral part of the company’s overall business strategy. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all CommScope professional services activities in the UK, and all its stakeholders, are supported with a world class EHS management system that fulfills CommScope’s global EHS Vision and Policy.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Lead CommScope’s professional services EHS Strategy with an effective EHS Management System that is complaint with all CommScope’s Global EHS Standards, based on a platform of continuous improvement and reduces CommScope’s overall EHS occupational and environmental risk.
  • Partner with CommScope’s other professional services organizations, and other EHS Personnel, in building a single CommScope Global professional services EHS Management system.
  • Promote, develop and improve the professional services EHS systems in accordance with all pertinent legislative requirements, guidelines, industry best practices and any other applicable internal or external requirements.
  • Build a professional services management system that is accredited to ISO14001 and ISO45001, or other applicable externally accredited frameworks.
  • Ensure excellent training and skills development programs are in place in CommScope’s professional services, to ensure an EHS conscious culture exists throughout the organization and within all applicable stakeholders.
  • Provide information, advice and instruction on the services agreed processes and procedures.
  • Be the CommScope representative when dealing with customers, clients, suppliers and others with regards to professional services EHS related issues.
  • Development of Health & Safety and Environmental procedures to maintain and improve upon the level of service provided and in line with all current legal and moral duties.
  • Implement regular and impromptu site inspections for performance monitoring and assurance of ongoing EHS compliance.
  • Regularly monitor and analyze the performance of the professional services EHS management system and design; implement and review effectiveness of corrective actions and improvements where necessary.
  • Ensures all incidents involving professional services activities are reported and managed as per the requirements of the applicable CommScope’s Global standards. Including; reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and sustainable corrective implementation.
  • Ensure that all EHS reports and information that is supplied to CommScope’s customers, clients and others is timely, accurate and consistent with their requirements.
  • Where required ensure excellent emergency preparedness procedures, infrastructure and arrangements are in place to ensure impact mitigation of incidents, should they occur.
  • Develop procedures to ensure that contractors, suppliers, consultants and other irregular visitors comply with all applicable CommScope policies and procedures.
  • Meet and co-operate with visiting EHS personnel as required.
  • Ensure regular tool box talks & EHS guidance notes are disseminated through the operational staff.
  • Ensure that CommScope’s Global Standard for PPE is complied with at all times; paying particular attention to fall protection for height working.
  • Design and implement a robust system for the identification, qualification and ongoing performance monitoring of services suppliers and contractors. Ensuring that all new and existing suppliers meet the requirements of the applicable CommScope Global EHS Standards.
  • Represent CommScope in applicable professional services; local, national health, client based and other, EHS bodies and meetings.
  • Any other duties requested by the line manager and/or the CommScope Director, Global EHS.QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree / NCRQ Diploma / NEBOSH Diploma
  • Must have a minimum for 5 years EHS experience.
  • Qualified ISO and OHSAS lead auditor
  • IOSH MembershipKNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
  • Must have expert knowledge and experience of CDM regulations and work at height
  • Possess a board knowledge base of the telecommunications industry
  • Knowledge of pertinent local, national, EHS laws, regulations, guidance and accreditation standards.
  • Knowledge of statistics, data collection, analysis, and data presentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving and training skills; can influence people
  • Self-starting/self-managing, ability to handle diverse situations with limited management direction.
  • Demonstrates ability to think ahead and take action to ensure success.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
  • Capable of making presentations to audiences, large and small.
  • Willingness to adapt to rapidly changing environment and new challenges.
  • Strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, strategic focus, can deliver results
  • Must be in a position to travel extensively
  • Strong PC Skills, MS Office and other applications as required
